A portafilter espresso machine is a must-have for dedicated coffee lovers. The new CASO Design Espresso Gourmet delivers coffee which tastes as if it was made by a barista – in your own home. The simple act of preparing your favourite drink becomes a special event before you get to enjoy its amazing taste to the full.

In combination with the perfect pressure generated by the powerful, 19 bar Ulka pump, the high-quality, heavy stainless steel portafilter delivers full aroma and a perfect crema, while the practical pre-brew function ensures that coffee is infused evenly. The integrated manometer shows the brewing pressure, which depends on the amount of coffee grounds which are used and how firmly they are pressed down with the tamper. Depending on your personal preference, you can adjust the coffee grounds and the pressure exerted with the tamper to change the brewing pressure. (Preparation tip: for one espresso (20 ml to 30 ml) use around 7 g of coffee grounds and approx. 14 g for 2 cups or a double espresso (40 ml to 60 ml).

The Espresso Gourmet gets the best out of your coffee beans, extracting even the finest nuances of flavour. The stainless steel steam wand enables you to prepare fantastically creamy frothed milk as the ‘crowning glory’ for your favourite drink, for example a smooth cappuccino or a latte macchiato. Practical – thanks to the integrated cup warming tray cups are always perfectly pre-warmed. In addition to this, the large, transparent 1.5 litre water tank and the stainless steel drip tray with integrated float can both be removed for easy cleaning.
