Questions and Answers

  • What does the Stiftung Warentest test result mean?

Our appliances fully comply with all legal requirements, i.e. the use of our hot water dispenser is completely safe. Compliance with the legally prescribed limit values is regularly tested by accredited testing institutes such as TÜV Rheinland and the Fresenius Institute.

  • How does the Stiftung Warentest rating come about?

Our appliances fully comply with the legal requirements regarding availability on the European market. In addition to the usual usage tests, Stiftung Warentest also used the limit values of the Drinking Water Ordinance, which are not required by law in this form. Here, too, we complied with all the strict limits, except for the value for aluminum. Only this value was exceeded, even though it was harmless.
The limit values of the Drinking Water Ordinance are so strict compared to other guideline values because the quantities and contact with water in everyday life, e.g. through personal hygiene, general food intake, etc., is many times higher than in the normal use of the hot water dispenser when preparing drinks.
Our appliances meet all legal requirements in full, i.e. the use of our hot water dispenser is completely safe.

The measured limit values for aluminum - hot water dispenser HW 660

Limit value for aluminum from the legal standard for appliances (EC) No. 1935/2004: 1.0 mg/l

Determination of the aluminum content of the HW 660 with aluminum heating element by:

    Stiftung Warentest < 0,95 mg/l
    Fresenius < 0,44 mg/l
    LGA/ TüV Rheinland < 0,59 mg/l

Limit value for aluminum from the Drinking Water Ordinance in Germany: 0.2 mg/l

  • Are there hot water dispensers without an aluminum heating element?

As part of the continuous development of our quality, we have replaced the heating system of the hot water dispenser with a newly developed heating element with a stainless steel flow tube. Instead of an aluminum heating element, a stainless steel flow-through pipe is now integrated into the heating element so that contact between the water and aluminum is completely eliminated. Measurements by the accredited TÜV Rheinland LGA have already confirmed that this modification not only complies with the strict limits of the Drinking Water Ordinance, but even falls below them.

Determination of the aluminum content of the new, modified HW 660 (1879) with stainless steel flow pipe by:

    LGA/ TüV Rheinland < 0,20 mg/l

    Test methods applied:

    DIN EN ISO 11885 - 2009-09
    DIN EN ISO 17294-2 ( E29 ) : 2017-01

Vacuum sealers and problem solving

  • Note on frequent complaints about vacuum sealers

We would like to draw your attention to a common cause of complaints about our vacuum sealers, which are often mistakenly returned as defective for repair or credit. In many cases, this is due to fatigue of the rubber seal that surrounds the suction chamber.

  • Why is this happening?

This problem often occurs if the vacuum sealer is stored in the cupboard when closed or if something heavy is placed on the vacuum sealer for a longer period of time. This can cause the rubber seal to lose its shape and no longer seal properly.

  • Solution: Simple measures for prevention and elimination
    • Clarification and prevention: Please do not store the vacuum sealer when it is closed and avoid placing heavy objects on it. This will keep the rubber seal in perfect condition.
    • Turn the rubber seal over: If the rubber seal does show signs of fatigue, you can simply turn it over to restore the sealing effect.
    • Use a replacement seal: Many of our models are supplied with an additional rubber seal. Use this if the first seal no longer works. If you do not have a replacement seal, you can order one at any time from our CASO-Design.de webshop.
  • Where can I order spare parts?

You can order spare parts for our products by calling our customer service (+49 2932 80554-99). Our customer service is available from Monday to Friday between 08:00 - 16:30.

Many of our models are supplied with an additional rubber seal. If you do not have a replacement seal, you can order one at any time from our spare parts store.
