A sweet waffle with cherries, cream, or vanilla ice cream is known and loved by (almost) everyone. But have you ever tried variations in cheesecake style or savory options as a side or a complete meal? No? Then explore new wonderful recipes with us.

The "WaffleUp" waffle iron from CASO Design creates perfect waffles (approx. 18 cm Ø and 2.5 cm thick) and is ideal for sweet and savory variations of all kinds. For example, you can prepare delicious potato waffles or waffles with beetroot, carrots, cheese, or herbs, perfect as a snack or a special side dish for a barbecue. Thanks to the non-stick coating, the waffles are prepared with reduced fat. And with the vertical and drip-proof design, baking becomes a clean affair.

BASIC SWEET WAFFLES

Ingredients (for approx. 6 waffles):

  • 250 g butter, 150 g sugar
  • 2 packets vanilla sugar, ½ tbsp baking powder
  • 5 eggs, separated
  • 500 g flour
  • 350 ml milk, 200 ml mineral water
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation:

  1. Cream butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt.
  2. Add egg yolks and beat until foamy, until all ingredients are evenly mixed.
  3. Add flour and baking powder, and mix.
  4. Then add milk and mineral water, and mix.
  5. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold in at the end.

Tip: Top the waffles with your favorite toppings, e.g., hot cherries, plums, cream, vanilla ice cream, fresh raspberries, chocolate sauce, nuts, etc. For a Christmas touch, simply refine the batter with spices such as cinnamon, gingerbread, or speculoos.

CHEESECAKE WAFFLES

Ingredients (for approx. 4 waffles):

  • 450 g cream cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice/lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 100 g sugar
  • 50 - 150 g flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix with a kitchen machine until a smooth mass is formed.

Tip: Top the finished waffles with berries, powdered sugar, and anything your heart desires.

SWEET PUMPKIN WAFFLES WITH CINNAMON ICE CREAM

Ingredients (for approx. 4 waffles):

  • 300 g flour
  • 100 g soft butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 250 ml milk
  • 250 g pumpkin puree
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon, 1 tbsp pumpkin spice
  • 50 g sugar/maple syrup
  • 1 ½ tbsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation:

  1. Crush oats and bananas.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.

Tip: Top the finished waffles with quark and fruits of your choice. Waffles go wonderfully with cinnamon ice cream and a pumpkin spice latte.

ZUCCHINI WAFFLES

Ingredients (for approx. 10 waffles):

  • 900 g zucchini
  • 8 eggs
  • 3 spring onions
  • 260 ml milk
  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 500 g flour
  • 200 g feta
  • 2 packets baking powder
  • 70 g grated cheese
  • Salt, pepper

Preparation:

  1. Finely chop zucchini, spring onions, garlic, and feta with a multi-chopper.
  2. Place all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix into a batter.
  3. Season with salt and pepper, and add a little milk depending on the consistency of the batter.

Tip: Top the waffles with fresh salad, tomatoes, cucumber, and a hearty dressing.

MARCOS POTATO WAFFLES

Ingredients (for approx. 10 waffles):

  • 800 g raw potatoes + 200 g onions / alternatively 1 kg hash brown mix
  • 5 eggs
  • 700 g all-purpose flour
  • 800 ml milk
  • 150 g vegetable oil
  • 3 packets baking powder
  • Nutmeg, salt, pepper

Preparation:

  1. Mix all ingredients until a uniform mass is formed.
  2. Puree the mass in a blender into a batter that flows easily from the spoon.

Tip: Perfectly paired with lamb's lettuce or arugula, tomatoes, sour cream, or fried bacon, blue cheese, a burger patty, and other savory toppings. For fish lovers, the potato waffle can also be topped with smoked salmon slices.

CHEESE WAVES

Ingredients (for approx. 5 waffles):

  • 350 g flour
  • 300 ml milk
  • 150 g soft butter
  • 5 eggs
  • 150 g grated mozzarella
  • 50 g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • Italian herbs
  • 1 pinch of sugar
  • Salt & pepper

Preparation:

  1. Combine all ingredients with a kitchen machine into a smooth batter  and bake in a waffle iron.
  2. Top with tomatoes, rocket, ham, mozzarella and balsamic dressing.

Tip: For colorful beet waffles, juice a beet in our slow juicer and add 2 tbsp juice and 1 tbsp mixture to the batter.
