It´s finally asparagus season again! Great recipes from classic to modern
Green or white - these noble stalks can be prepared in many ways and promise real culinary delights. The fine vegetable is not only tasty, but also healthy: Asparagus contains many minerals such as potassium, calcium, iron and magnesium.
With the "Steam Chef" from CASO Design, the white and green rods can be cooked particularly gently, so that the valuable vitamins, minerals and nutrients are preserved. The freestanding design steam oven is also ideal for preparing, for example, fish, chicken, cakes and much more. Today we are presenting three asparagus recipes: one with fish, one with ham, and one vegetarian. Simply delicious!
Tasty with Salmon
Fancy some salmon with asparagus? In the "Steam Chef" the delicious recipe is prepared especially easy. Vitamins and minerals are preserved, the salmon remains crisp, the fish tender and juicy. Simply perfect: All ingredients can be cooked parallel in the "Steam Chef".
Ingredients:
- 300 g Salmon fillet
- 350 g Green asparagus
- 350 g White asparagus
- 5-6 Potatoes
- 1 Lemon
- Fresh Dill
- Salt, pepper
How to prepare:
- Wash and peel the asparagus and potatoes. Remove the woody ends of the asparagus.
- Season the salmon fillet with salt and pepper and top with lemon and dill.
- First put the potatoes in the Steam Chef at 100°C for about 25 minutes. After 10 minutes add the asparagus to the steamer and the last 5 minutes add the salmon at the same temperature.
- Place the cooked salmon, potatoes and asparagus on plates and serve garnished with dill and lemon.
Perfect for brunch und picnic
A great idea are also puff pastry bundles with ham and asparagus. The savory appetizers are easy to prepare and quickly cooked in the Steam Chef. They are a real highlight at brunch or picnic and also as a small snack!
Ingredients:
- 1 Rolle Blätterteig
- 500 g Green Asparagus
- 100 g Crème frâiche
- 6 Slices of prosciutto
- 100 g Parmesan cheese
- Olive oil
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 Egg
- Salt, pepper
How to prepare:
- Roll out puff pastry on a baking sheet and cut into 6 squares.
- Wash the asparagus and remove the woody ends. Next, brush the asparagus with olive oil, salt and pepper.
- Then spread each piece of dough with some crème fraîche and lay the ham and 3-4 asparagus spears diagonally on the dough piece, so that there is a corner of the dough piece on the right and left. Sprinkle about 1 tablespoon of Parmesan over the asparagus, then fold the corners of the puff pastry tightly over each other and press down well.
- To finish, mix the egg with the milk and brush the bundles with it.
- Bake the puff pastry bundles with asparagus in the Steam Chef for about 15-20 minutes until they are golden brown. Let cool for a few minutes and serve.
Vegetarian: Tarte flambée with green asparagus
Must try: Tarte flambée with green asparagus, fresh tomatoes and parmesan. This vegetarian asparagus recipe doesn't need many ingredients and tastes super fresh out of the Steam Chef!
Ingredients:
- 2 rolls of flambée dough
- 400 g Green Asparagus
- 200 g Crème frâiche
- 6 Cherry Tomatoes
- 1 Onion
- 100 g grated Gouda
- 100 g shaved Parmesan
- 50 g Rocket
- Salt, Pepper
How to prepare:
- Roll out the flambée dough and spred with crème fraîche. Then season with the herbs, salt and pepper.
- Top with tomatoes, asparagus and onion rings and sprinkle with grated Gouda.
- Bake in the Steam Chef at 200°C for about 15 minutes.
- Spread some rocket and parmesan on the finished
