Frequently asked questions about the DH 450

  • What are the advantages of dehydrating?

During the drying process, moisture is extracted from the food at temperatures of up to 70 °C. If the food is dry, it cannot spoil. If they are dry, they cannot spoil. Fruit, vegetables, mushrooms and herbs, as well as meat and fish, are gently preserved naturally and without additives or preservatives. Vitamins and minerals are preserved. So you always know what's inside - unlike with store-bought food.

  • What can you prepare with the dehydrator?

Whether it's fiber-rich dried fruit, healthy snacks and sweets for a cozy evening in front of the TV or on the go, fruit leather or dried meat, tea or treats for pets, whether sweet, sour or savory - there are hardly any foods that cannot be preserved or dried with the dehydrator.

  • Can you make fruit leather with the dehydrator?

Thanks to the 2 reusable dehydrator sheets, which are especially suitable for liquid ingredients, soft fruit leather can be made very easily. Simply puree the fruit, spread, dehydrate and shape into small rolls.

  • What accessories are supplied?

The dehydrator is supplied with two reusable dehydrator sheets for making fruit leather, for example, and two silicone molds for preparing muesli bars.

  • Can different foods be dried at the same time?

Fruit, vegetables, granola or muesli bars can be dried at the same time without any problems. However, it is better to dehydrate meat, herbs or tea individually, as odors or flavors could be transferred to other foods.

  • When are vegetables, fruit & co. ready to be dried?

The recommended dehydration time and temperature depends on which food is used, how much liquid the food has, how thickly it is cut and the desired result. The recommended preparation times may vary for this reason.
